Tina Louise is known as Ginger on Gilligan’s Island, but you knew that already. However, her role has impressively been reprised by six other actresses, and not just the show but in the television films and animated series as well. Actually Dawn Wells voiced both her character May Ann and Ginger for an episode of the Gilligan’s Island cartoon called Gilligan’s Planet.

Producer Sherwood Schwartz was well known in the industry. At the time, he spoke with CBS president Jim Aubrey to pitch Gilligan’s Island, but Aubrey was hesitant. Aubrey was concerned that if they aired the show, fans would grow bored as Gilligan and the gang don’t escape the island. However, Schwartz insisted that wouldn’t happen and the show got its chance.
