Dramatically Different Pilot
If you have managed to get a glimpse of the pilot episode, you might have noticed a big difference in its later episodes. The two female characters were originally a secretary and high school teacher. However, they changed it afterwards. Since the network realized the pilot might cause confusion, they decided to halt its re-broadcast. It’s not until in 1992 that the audience were able to watch the pilot again. But can you image Mary Ann and Ginger as a teacher and secretary? Me neither.

Two Cartoons
During the 60’s and 70’s, shows tried to remain relevant by also transforming into cartoons and having cartoon spinoffs. Gilligan’s Island also jumped on the bandwagon here and made two cartoons. One was a classic cartoon known as Gilligan’s Island and the other was actually set in outer space, Gilligan’s Planet.
