Marilyn Monroe looking into a funhouse mirror, c. 1950’s.
Marilyn Monroe came from a family with a history of mental illness. Her mother was institutionalized and her grandmother committed suicide. Marilyn Monroe was known for being beautiful, but also very shy and depressed. The fame and pressure definitely affected her. This photo shows her perhaps how she saw herself every day of her life.
