Too Easy
Cement isn’t necessarily easy to chip away, but there were vents in the walls, which created a hole to start with. They simply went into the vents and chipped from the inside. Plus, the cement was weak because it was surrounded by moisture all the time.
The Plan
Inside the walls and vents, there was a small utility corridor. Clearly, there were no guards watching over that because prisoners were supposedly unable to reach that area. It was the perfect setup!
