Spring is honestly one of the best seasons, if not the absolute best. I mean, what could be better than cool and moderate temperatures perfect for iced tea and eating outside, the promise of summer being just around the corner, and of course, the springtime blooms. When it comes to these blooms, some destinations truly take the cake when it comes to the most beautiful sights to behold.
Cherry Blossom Trees And Tulips
One of those locations is Dallas, Texas, where you can visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden during the Dallas Blooms festival that takes place over 6 weeks in the springtime.
The festival is completely dedicated to spring flowers and is considered to be the biggest floral festival in the southwest. You can see hundreds of spring bulb varieties, Japanese cherry trees, and thousands of azaleas.
Amongst the rows and fields of tulips and cherry blossom trees, there’s also special programming that’s planned to celebrate the theme of the year, which this year is birds of paradise.
Dallas Blooms Festival
You can take a look at parrots that have been rescued, learn about bird photography, and learn about which plants are best to plant according to the local bird species in the area.
Of course, another feature that absolutely cannot be missed is the peacock topiaries, which are larger than life and made completely out of flowers and plants. How cool is that?
You can also take a flower walk, which is a weekly event held by the Dallas Arboretum horticulture team that will show what is in bloom at the time.
You need to buy tickets ahead of time, and each ticket has a timed entry. The times start at 9am but the park is open until 5pm, so you can stay the whole day if you like.
Tickets for adults cost $20, $16 for seniors that are 65 and older, and $12 for kids between the ages of 2 to 12. Kids under 2 can visit for free.
